FOUNDER
Femafricmaths
Femafricmaths is a network of Female African Mathematicians who are transforming Africa using mathematics. Our mission is to highlight the diversity in careers after a degree in mathematics. Our vision is to see girls being confident to pursue careers in mathematics and related fields. #TimeWithMathsqueens is one of our flagship programs where we interview female African mathematicians, highlighting their journeys with mathematics. We recruit volunteers which we call #mathsqueens for in person outreach activities in partnership with other STEM organizations. Such outreaches include: Science in Tents, National STEAM Day and Ghana Science Festival, directly impacting about 1,000 young students in Ghana. In our quest to improve competencies in numeracy at the basic level, we launched the #Yεpεmaths project in 2019. Volunteers support young learners in both in person and online sessions. On social media, Femafricmaths has approximately the following followers: Facebook - 1,700, X/Twitter - 1,300, Instagram - 800 and YouTube - 500.
